Get these four advocates on the ballot!
Hello Democratic committee members, elected officials, advocates, voters, and residents of Delaware County!
Marion Cimino, Catherine Coll, Ashley Dolceamore, and I (Colleen Kennedy) are running for Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. We wanted to share with you that we are currently collecting petition signatures so we can be on the ballot this May. We would absolutely love your help.
We have a handy little volunteer form, if you are interested in signing our petitions or even becoming a circulator. (Don’t worry…we will train you!) We need to collect a minimum of 100 signatures each from eligible Democratically-registered voters across Delaware County, and we have only a few short weeks to make it happen. As organizers, we like to blow past the bare minimum goal. In this case, that means spreading out across Delaware County and getting to know as many residents as possible.
A quick note about why the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee is SO IMPORTANT, and why we hope you’ll send us as your representatives:
PASDC controls spending on campaigns, evaluates platform components, and also makes endorsements in statewide races, including the US Senate, governor, judicial races, row offices, and more.
This body controls a lot about how campaign staff are treated and how our values show up (or are stifled) in campaign communications, in earned media coverage, and in the selection of candidates for public office.
We know that progressive voters’ needs are so often ignored, and we are unapologetic, progressive voices working to change that.
We want to end the dichotomy between advocacy in the community and political spaces. In other words, we want what you need to be central to the decision making in the Democratic Party, not the desires of big donors or of bad opinions from ineffective advisors.
